Pakistan Hockey Team
Untitled
Anwar Ahmad Khan

Anwar Ahmad khan never seemed to be in a hurry, wharever the surface,be it a mud ground or a grassy one.He was the first truly great center-half that pakistan has prosuced, and a stylish one to boot.An imperious pivot, good stoppage, excellent checking, wonderful distribution and superb stamina were some of the attribures of Anwar's game.Tall and handsome,Anwar in his own right was a sultan of the midfield.A veteran of three Olympics('56, '60and '64) and two Asiads('58, '62),Anwar retired after the silver in the '64 Tokyo Games. While as a player, Anwar had achieved distinction - the two medals of lowest denomination he won were silvers,he was not as big a success as coach and manager of the Pakistan teams.
